Have not seen a A series motor in a boat. But we use to have a fibreglass cabin cruiser with a Holden 202 Red Motor.

So a A series would be possible, but you would want to flush it well after use as the 202 used the sea water for cooling as it did not have a radiator.

But you could fit one I guess.

Nice boat,
Id try a 1.3 charade motor, all alloy 75kg with 16v sohc and built for 8.5 krpm from factory. With free exhaust and quad bike carbs 110hp isnt out of the question with stock cam.

I've got a project boat in new guinea, twin A10's.

I love those timber hulls. So neat!

Haven't seen a A-series in a boat but i've seen a Hilux diesel engine in a yacht.

No reason why it wouldn't work, should work pretty well in fact!

Keep us updated with the progress!

there was someone on here ages ago with a a-seires in a boat who needed help with somthing engine wise(i think they wanted to know how to get more power from there a-12??).. one perticular thing i noted is that they had aftermarket water cooled manifolds(not custom ones!!!) so they must be used by some group of boating people out there to warrant enough to produce the cast manifolds. ive thought many times about putting a a-series in a tinny..

I'm finding it hard to believe someone at some time created a marine manifold for Datsun A engine... but seeing is believing.
