sounds like accelertor cable is sticking or pedal. could also be worn return spring on the carby, allowing the car to keep on accelerating not pulling the throttle arm/lever back to stop flowing petrol.

Could also be overfueling from the fuel passing through the jets if they are seating correctly or a high float level.

have a prob like that you just have to move that where the sleave of the accelration cable is like held move that a bit foward so it has slack do it when the car is running warm because it seems to get tighter and not having that slack it just doesnt pull back far enough and it`l be accelarating quite high... unles it`s another problem, that`s just something i had to play with

I had that problem and for me I found out it was my carbie like where the acelerator cable hooks on wen it spins and goes back it doesn't always go right back it had a little notch where it was catching so I think it may have been a blown rubber in it
I changed carbie and it was all fine
And if u lube up ur accelerato cable might b looser and or put a tighter spring on ur carby
Good luck

Hi Guys

I found my throttle cable is properly hooked into the carb, when i start the engine it is starting with higher rpm and gradually reduce it, can anyone post me a clear picture how the throttle cable should be connected to carb ?

THANKS

also lubrication in the cable is important, and any clamp too tight will also stop it working properly
