I think it was $180 for entry but if you want to talk total costs then it's much higher. You've got to factor in fresh fluids (oil, brake) and the petrol down there and back plus what you burn on the day. You need your club membership ($40) and cams L2S licence ($100) which are yearly. Tyres are a killer because if you run on streets you'll put 12months worth wear on them in one day at the track or you run with R-spec tyres which are up to and over $300 per corner but you should get 10+ track days out of.
It really is an expensive past time which is why it's so frustrating when you only get 10 laps in a day out! I'm hanging for the K-Rudd racing fund to show up!

Daveman, please don't give up on supersprinting or whatever because these people were obviously disorganised. Maybe they didn't have enough people helping them. You admit it was to you're advantage to be in the 'training' session, cause you got a clear track. & as for the comment about the car, some people just can't see past the hype about a particular car (WRX,GTR). Funniest thing I've seen lately was my mate in the Silver Sunny passing all the WRX's at Eastern Creek in the rain at a Supersprint, usually sideways. It's unfortunate about your friends MR2, maybe you can persuade him to buy a 'Beater' to use in these sort of things, sort of like a 1200, like you've got.
