bummer 017 on the track, I would have thought they wouldn't allow low-mounted oil coolers, or oil hoses that hang down.

Average weather is better than freezing cold wind, but it sounds like the wrecks cooled off the fun

Just thought I'd vent a bit of anger about the wrx day friends and me attended on the weekend. Firstly the weather was average in the morning and our first sessions were a bit greasy since there had been a heavy downpoor overnight taking all the rubber off the track.

I got placed in the driver training group for whatever reason so I went and argued with race control that I didn't want to be held up and they smugly told me that I probably wouldn't keep up with stock wrx's with the first time drivers having training anyway! It worked out in my favour in the end because I drove past the 5 cars in front of me on my outlap which meant I had clear track for the next 3 laps.

My second session was in the wet and in a powerful rear drive datsun with a locked diff and well worn semi's it was nothing short of terrifying trying to keep it on the track!

Later in the day one of my mate's came off and damaged his MR2 fairly heavily which put a real downer on the day. It was his first time out on the track so I don't know if he'll ever make it back! Atleast he's ok. Some clown had a poorly mounted oil cooler which got snagged on something and dropped oil around the complete track causing the MR2 and another WRX to come off. The wrx was completely written off and the driver was lucky to walk away.

The day had its hold ups but that wrx club are so disorganised sometimes I think they may have detered me from doing anymore days with them. I would not have got my 3rd sessio in until nearly 4 in the afternoon by which time I was too busy getting the MR2 onto a trailer and off the premises before they locked us out!

All issues aside I set a new PB by 4 seconds with a 2:01.5 which my 3rd lap out of the day and I'm sure it's got a 1:59 in it as is. Here's a pic on the way out of siberia.
