hey everyone im looking at running a 120y front break setup on my 1983 1200 ute.. wat mods are need to to this and wat size wheel and tryes can i fit..

im putting a ca18det in it as well and iterested in your opinion on this break setup..

any info is a help

13x7's in a zero or slightly negative offset, 250mm silvia disk brakes on the 120y strut.

^read the question jake you muppet.

120y front struts and brakes bolt right into the ute. Use the 1200 top hats though as the 120y ones suck (and make the car higher). Use all the same piping etc, they bolt straight in. Use anything bigger than a 12" wheel over those tiny brakes.

They make a really good upgrade over the standard drums all round but I would be looking towards something much bigger/thicker/a bit more up to the job if you are going for a CA18DET install.

Many use the S13 brakes on the 120y struts with a caliper bracket and the 250mm 4 stud rotors over the top of a slightly turned down hub which is a very cheap upgrade. You can fit some 13's over the s13 brakes with small clearance but 14's fit slightly better, unfortunately.

EDIT: for the love of god please dont make another cookie cut out ca18det 1200 ute with 17's and a big bore that does phat skids and looks baller.
