Right now I'm using an A12 and I never get enough comments on how mine sounds, People think it's a v8 at idle and when I'm using my A14 they think it's a rotor! .I'm using a weber 32\36 dgv on the intake and an a14\15 exhaust manifold with a 1 3\4 inch pipe into a same size inlet outlet muffler for the rest of teh system. I used to dump it at the diff but that does get quite loud from the boot resonating the noise, now it's just goes over and out the back. Something I'm going to do with the A14's exhaust this time round is to go up to 2 inches and run a smaller diameter twin pipe from the muffer to the back to hopefully reduce some of the noise it makes. You could hear me coming from like 3 km away on a nice night!

well it depends how far you want to go, a good option is a 2 1/2 dump pipes with extractors and maybe some twin sidedraft webbers :D it all comes down to what you can afford mate
cheers

Does anyone know what kind of setup i would need to make my datsun sound a lil better? I'm looking for a deep growl type - something that makes it sound like the car got power, but not shouting from the roof-tops kinda thing.

Also, how much do you reckon a setup like that would cost?

I got a quote here for a bigger diameter exhaust pipe (bigger than the original pipe i have on now) - in mildsteel, with a stainless steel straight thru box. that would cost me US$180 from "Powerpipes". Then an arb local guy says i dont need to change my pipe diameter just need to put a straight thru box on, but near the gear box, not near the tail end, then run that same pipe to the end... that would cost me US$60 (box is made of mildsteel as well.)

Thanks for the feedback!
