Hi all, Just put a fresh engine in my 1200 ute and it makes a noise that comes and goes.
It soundsgearbox/clutch related.
I got the engine out of a sunny auto and put my flywheel and clutch on and also the spigot bush and now when you let then clutch out it makes a whirring vibrating sound.
there is no vibration and the sound comes and goes as it pleases.
Anyone had the same problem?? did i not put the spigot bush in far enough??
One thing i did notice on the clutch diaphragm is that they were not all even but it didnt make mthis noise before the engine change.
please help, i need my car on the road.
thanks

I think I had this problem and it was the thrust bearing. did it sit in the weather or anything? I just greasd up the thrust bearing real good and with that and a bit of use it went away.

A dry spigot bush can make the kind of noise you describe.
