I am looking around for a R31 diff to shorten and fit my 1200 ute with CA18det.
Any info on what ratios they come in and the difference between skyline / Pintara etc.

I think the pintara diff may be a 25 spline opposed to a 28 spline in the skyline, there for you cannot put a falcon or commodorre lsd in as they are a 28 spline, also there would be some strength issues about it, all depends on how highly powered your ca18 is.

Dont quote me, but i think this is the case.

only difference is that pintara is 25 spline, so axles and centre are different

skyline manuals 3.7
skyline autos 3.9
pintara manuals 3.9
pintara autos 4.11

i think thats how it goes anyway, pintaras might have all come with 4.11

if you are chasing 3.7s - they also came out in some mid 70s (roughly) cortinas. Obviously you'd be scoring such a diff at the wreckers and have to put the gears into the pintara or skyline housing. You can get 2.77s, 2.92, 3.23 3.45 and 3.5 gears from earlier ford/valiants but I doubt anyone would be looking for those ratios on a datto unless they were running on salt flats/land speed competition!
