hey guys my car broke down yesterday got it back to mine for some reson it not getting spark at all????? any ideas???? any one live near cockburn central and wanna have a look at it????

Check the wire where it goes into the distributor. It may be loose.

nah not that just checked there no spark from the coil and it and i have 2 new ones

Sounds like resistor on dizzy or ballast resistor, If ya runnin points dizzy.

Yeh, I have changed the condensor, I would suggest you may be right with the ballast resitor - it happend to me before on a Datsun Sunny. Very similar expereince - well I may try and get a balast resistor and see what happens - the RAC did however test it - but I would suggest it may have provided him with good test results as it was not completly stuffed at that stage - what da ya think?

Condenser thats what i meant. Have you checked the condition and connections of all the wires like the wire to starter motor, Dizzy etc and the fusible link/ignition wires? Oh and i gather you tried another coil lead ?

Yep - we tried the coil lead from another car - additionally checked it with a timing light nothing - no spark from the coil - brand new coil from my rebuild. Yeh, I will go through each wire to ensure that each is connected etc - the question I have is - can the immobiliser cause this type of issue - well what I mean is that the engine will not kick over until the immobiliser has been de-activated however can it interfer with the provision of spark? thanks

Before you go off checking everything else you need a test light. Something basic. Check for power to the positive of the coil with ignition 'on'. If power is there you most likely have a points or condenser/suppressor problem. If there is no power at the positive coil then you have a power supply problem. Either a blown fuse or interference from an immoboliser. I have seen it where people don't know that a previous owner has fitted a kill switch to the negative coil!! Now that was funny.
