OK guys ....

Just a little background

The motor was built in late 2006 for the Datsun 1000 sports sedan that has been on this forum a few times (red and yellow ) and the car was run with the fresh motor for two laps before being smashed .....
I never had the motor built however i did buy the race car in june 07 .
I spoke to the engine builder in june 2007 at the time he had given me the copy of the work completed and for some reason the 4k rebuild was mentioned by another guy in the club or someone else ..... but this might be wrong as it could have been a lot more ..... the dyno reading of 136bhp@wheels was given to me by the engine builder himself and he was meant to send me the dyno sheet however i never followed it up ......... i will follow it up next week as i would be nice to have a copy ....

The price is a EOI and there was no mention of me selling it for 4k

cheers

Joe

yeah 136 at the wheels is pretty imprssive...Id love to see the dyno sheet.
This BIGGEST hp ive ever seen on an N/A A-series is 126rwhp that with 1.6 massive prots massive cam knife-edged crank forgies throughout 50mm quad throttles and motec injection the whole deal....
this would be a bargain for the new owner...

that sounds like jeff taylors a15..
i thought it was rumoured to be 200hp?
or was that at the flywheel?

reading the thread, its seems that you havn't run the motor yet??? howd you get the figures you stated?? is it in the car and dynoed to get these figures. That sort of power means 10k+, if you want to sell it for $4, its a steal....

I think if you post a dyno sheet and a couple picks of it doing this, the motor will sell in a matter of moments.

Good luck with the sale!

keep it, unless its $$4 you need, you can store it and race it later, i reckon you will regret it.

cheers guys

thanks for the nice comments , i am in the process of finding out the exact cost of rebuild as i had $4k in my head and now that i pulled out the reciept it has no figure on it so i will confirm this and get back to you just in case it was more ....

I am a little half hearted about selling as i have spoken to barry my engine biulder and he has told me that there would be no chance of building another one for what i would get for this one ....

I agree, chances of selling this motor on this site would be slim to say the least, however if it was mine i'd have it on my105.com where the genuine racers shop.

i spent just over 2500 on my A15. But if your really keen to sell you gotto remember that you never get your money back, unfortunately. I used to love my motor so responsive!
Good luck but unless you find a rich enthusiast, prob won't sell on here...

I've spent $1500 so far on my A14 and it's not getting any cheaper since I'm doing all the assembly and tuning myself. I still have to:
- buy decent clutch
- get exhaust redone so it doesn't choke itself like the last time
- rebuild and re tune the synchronous carby
- buy headgasket
- buy headbolts cos I've run out
- buy thermostat housing that isn't crumbling like my current one

This was using the most cost effective bits I could find too. From my experience WRXSUX is a decent bloke who has good gear at good prices and if I actually bought stuff from ya I'd be even more inclined to stand by that statement.
