I am undecided as to what path I should take.
I just aquired a 1200 ute that has been smashed in the front. It is in pretty good nik with basicly no rust. I have 4 options...
1) cut it down into a trailer
2) cut & shut it with a sedan front (I have a sedan to do it with)
3)stretch it with the sedan & use all 4 doors (dual cab) I spoke to my panel beater & he said it can be done.
4)slightly stretch it with a coupe front & doors. (I have a coupe I can use for this too)
The trailer option is the easiest & by far the cheapest, but a stretched ute might be worth more in the long run. what do you rekkon?

Make it a King Cab. Use the 4dr front doors forward. But with room to recline the seat, use the B120G driveshaft and wheelbase. Put small side window in just like the King Cab.

OR, instead of coupe doors which look weird on a ute, use 2-dr wagon doors. Would give a little more room to get in and out.

A 4 door ute would look incredibly strange. I kind of imagine it would look like one of those hummer limo's that rappers love.
I like the idea of wagon doors. I think coupe doors with the lower door frame would look slightly odd (maybe)
If you could repair in with the sedan front that would be cool but it needs to be done properly (obviously) to be safe, I.E. on a chassis jig
Trailer certainly would be the cheapest option, but good on you for not scrapping it straight away!

Datsun had factory built 4-dr 520 pickup, 620 pickup and 720 pickup. Why not a B120?

king cab or extra cab looks #OOPS# imo

coupe front with the long doors with the ute stuck on would look cool but play with photo shop

So, I guess most people think the extra cab is the way to go. Given that I am not planning to keep it forever, the most saleable option would be the best. So if I dont trailer it I think I'll go the extra cab route.
Thanks for the input ppl
