So in QLD ..anything that needs to be certified or is v8 or turbo ..is trouble for P-platers.

I have a simple solution I don't want to offend with this but I live in Melbourne driven a vk Calais straight 8... Capri turbo... Crx twin cam vtec .... And a vl that run 11s ,,,,,, all on my Ps and never got pulled over or fined don't drive like a dick you won't get pulled over plus most cops respect a young fella doing up a classic

i got pulled up one night and got defected for having a novelty numberplate behind my passengers seat.... im pretty sure its not illegal though, the car is registered NSW and im in ACT with ACT licence, cop wanted to pull me up on the engine too because its not the A12 its A15 but couldnt because i was ACT, basically they can do it and unfortunately some of them arent stupid they will insist on looking i heard even if yours is engineered with the bigger engine if your a p plater in NSW its a no no??

Question: are you allowed to drive a car that is non turbo, has less then 8 cylinders, is not a rotary. however the car requires engineering for a ca18de.

Example my datsun 1200 sedan with ca18de on p's?

Ive heard alot of hype that if the cars engineered for modifications then its classed as not being legal for p platers to drive.

I believe a CA18de has at almost 200% the power of the a12 it replaces.

No way a p-plater is getting away with that.

Call the RTA before spending too much money.

theres ways to get around it
if you can identify a need for the performance inhancements
or if its the only family registered vehicle
to be hosnet i find it silly how p platers cant even drive flat head v8's
i really think it should be power to weight ratio rather then turbo charged or high perfomance or v8's

I just got my truck licence the other day, so now I can drive a 22.5 tonne truck with a 9 tonne trailer, but not my 1200 with an a14 and twin webers. I can also have a beer and ride a hayabusa.
