hey mate
project is looking good. does the 6 speed bolt straight up with the 12a? i run a 12a bridgey with s4 rx7 5 speed in my ute. and even with 4.3 diff gears i rarely use 5th. with a 6 speed youll be able to use really low gearing and make it launch really hard! but you may be changing gears as frequent as a trail bike! good luck with the rest of the build you'll really enjoy it when its done!

hey buddy. i just put a 13b in my 1200. sit the engine as far back as you can. you will need to cut out the trans tunnel aswell. if you get some 8mm steel you can get it bent up the same shape as an rx4 crossmember. and thats your front brackett done. depending on what gearbox you use will differ to how big of a tunnel you will put in it. the main x member for the front end will need to be cut out and welded up. the further the engine sit back the more room you have for an exhaust. if you have any questions about the build pm me and im more then happy to help you out

juniorjay- yer the box is pretty long, the shifter ends up where the handbrake should go, i have a mate thought that makes up kits that can bring the shifter as far forward as i want it! thanks.
ANGE- yer all rotary boxs will bolt up to any series motor, the only problem i have is the clutch slave cyl hits the oil filter but thats easy fixed, i purely went with the 6 speed to be diffrent, the gears are so sweet in it too. how much power are you making? is it carby or injected? thanks. 13b1200ute- your ute is the reason i went with a rotary, i actually had my coupe for sale and i was gonna buy that ute (sale fell through) the next day i started stripping the coupe and brought a rotary...that was about a year ago now. thanks 44lex- what mounts did you use for the front? i have two weeks off work starting next week so im gonna mount it all up then. what do you mean when you say the main crossmember needs to be cut out and welded up? thanks mate ill probably be pm'ing you a bit...

my engine is series 4 rx7. i have to get the front cover changed to 12a so the motor could be mounted from the front.
i bought a rx4 crossmember with 2x engine mounts. then went and seen a steel fabricator and got him to bend to the same shape as the engine mounts a 8mm mild steel bar. ive got a pic of it. i used an rx4 sump on the engine. the pan for the sump sits at the front of the engine to allow for room. i cut the main x member out so i could fit the engine as low and as far back as i could. if anyone wants pics of what ive done then pm me your email and il send them through. i had to get a custom trans tunnel made. also my gearbox shifter was moved fwd 5 inches to give me more room. cheers lex
