So are you putting the L18 in instead of the L16? Whats the difference between them?

While im going to have to rebuild my engine and reregister the car and everything, would it be advisable to stick with the L16 or use another engine?

There is nothing wrong with the L 16. It all depends what you are going to use the car for

Then i would say keep the l16 and get the head done balance all the rotating bits and a mild cam then you should be very happy

If you have the money a set of weber sides or a set of su carbs the sss came out with them in SA. If you run the su you cant run a to crazy cam.

Hey people I went to pic up my motor today and to my surprize it was a L 20 motor. So I got it for R500 Around 80 aus $ what a bargain!

Congratulations! The L20B is a great engine. It's only about 3/4 taller, but has significantly more power and torque than the L16 or L18. With this much torque you will definitely need a 1200/1400 bakkie rear axle assembly (H165). The Stanza 510 with L20B was factory-fitted with H165 diff. The L20B has at least 100HP in stock form (or more depending on year/model) and 112 lb/ft (152 Nm) torque.
