Should the CA18DET have a 82 degree or 88 degree thermostat?

Cheers

I used to have a 89 in mine and it was fine except on the track the oil temps would get quite high because it was getting heat soaked quickly by the motor. I changed down to an 82 and the engine still runs fine but oil temps stay that bit lower when going hard which is comforting.

Both temps are listed for the motor, a hot or cool version which I guess must be to do with the climate the car is in. I would say go with the cooler one.

cheers
