Great one there Claire. I'm still driving my 1200 coupe with auto & when the engine is properly tuned, they are a great town car.
I drove mine to Melbourne to pick up stuff from 1200RC about a year ago & they don't really like highway speeds for hours at a time. None the less, it ran great all the way there & back & yours will run great too

Oooooh, I just noticed, ... aircon. Bonus & I'm jealous.

New seats
Bigger brakes on the front (stanza)
200b struts
New wheels
New bumper & boot lid
Got a mate to panel beat the back out
Resprayed (original colour) bottom half under the pinstripe
Roady & Rego

All done within ONE WEEK of purchasing the car off ebay!
Mammoth effort
Shoutouts to 1200rallycar and Supafatto who did a lot of the work & Datsandy for brake bits

Hopefully this gets me from Mooroolbark to Werribee reliably every day and somewhat economically!

It's just a daily driver. Maybe a a14 conversion soon
Gotta put in a rear demister that I bought last weekend & get the remote central locking fixed.
Already has intermittent windscreen wipers & the aircon unit, but that's not hooked up at the moment.
Long term project maybe move away from the mustard colour.
That's about it ^_^

Oooooh I was hoping that you could keep Michaels hands off it for a little while at least.

The seats, wheels, paint & panel repairs are all good but I'm not so sure about the 200B struts as the larger model's suspensions have proven to have problems with track & mudguard clearance.
It seems that the S13 disk brake conversion onto the original struts offers more in terms of simplicity, efficiency & driveability.
Using the front hubs from a drum brake model apparently keeps the track increase down to an absolute minimum too.
This is the longer term plan for mine.

The A14 will be a good upgrade, but see if he can find & fit a 3.7 to 1 differential as this will help a little with highway cruise, something that the A14 will handle with ease.

nice claire, nice, now how about some nice wheels fr it and a little lower, not much, just a little and inch or 2 maybe.
will be a nice auto daily with aircon and heating, rear demister is a great thought too.

not sure about long term daily for that drive, but like any car, serviced correctly will last a lifetime almost

I was going to say 'what a great condition coupe ..shame about the rear damage!"
Then I scrolled down the photos and I was very pleased with the progress.

What are those black circle things at the base of the rear window pillars?
They really must go! That section of the coupe body is the best bit IMHO.
It's a shame they are there, it ruins the beautiful lines.

The Coupe looks great. Do your best to keep it looking good.

Cheers,
Chris

Haha sorry Dodgeman, he did the rebuild so he got to make some of teh decisions.
Forgot to add that i spent $2100 on new bushes and bits and brakepads, drums, new headlights, bulbs god knows what...
The bigger brakes were just so I could stop from 100km/h i don't really know anything about them. Meant I couldn't keep the stock steelies though because they didn't fit and 1200rc donated the globes.

The black circle things are "Sebring Datsun" badges, basically the older equivalent of a dealer sticker from the western suburbs of Melbourne but they're pop riveted on so I'm not going to take them off until I'm going to redo the paintwork.

Pretty happy with the car as a whole. I only really want an a14 so it doesn't take quite so long to get up to 100 on the ring road... i dread a traffic jam cos I know I'll never get going again!!

Thanks boys ^_^
