well, long time nothing from claire on her car, it's still booting along getting her to the places she needs to go everyday

had it's first "breakdown" though two weeks ago, heater core started leaking so it overheated.

thanks to the donation of parts from a couple of the datto blokes, it has another heater core in her and carpet all dried out, also a new windscreen washer bag as hers started leaking

if only i could convince claire to spend money on it to fix it up a bit, but alas... there apparently is someone in the world tighter than mik

one bonus of her car overheating... i made her drive my manual corolla ae101 home... first time she's driven manual, hopefully a few more drives and she'll be keen on a gearbox for her datto. would make that thing fly and be more economical at the same time... win win!

we did talk of buying her a new micra one day... the next day she looked at me and said sincerely "i'm not ready to let go of my datsun yet" so she'll be booting it around for a while yet

i take it as a compliment 1200rc. may all your children have red hair

she should make it manual- better for economy as you said.
its a decent car, just you take it off her when she gets a micra- better than an alto.

did a head gasket a few months ago... had head rebuilt

but after that it was going through 3ltrs oil a week

so last week i pulled the motor and had the bottom end rebuilt too

so now it has a fully rebuilt motor and is booting along nicely

she still drives it to work every day proudly and cant bear the thought of letting it go for that new micra yet

could do with a manual box though...

polished and painted some rims i found on a stanza at a wreckers ages back

have to drive on the tyres a bit to let the silicone come out before we can get the whitewalls done... so that will be done in a few weeks too

please resist posting the try hard comment "needs to be lowered"

Love the wheels- rebels they are called. Were popular on sigmas. There were a set of 13x7 fir sale by Sikyne I think.
Great wheels- I wanted a set but couldnt afford them at the time 15x6.

Insert resisted comment here (common 20mm) And add neg camber front.
