I have a new Datsun 1000 clutch which i need to put into a Datsun 1000, the only problem is that the Datsun 1000 has a 1200 motor in it, would this clutch fit?

Yes, it will fit. However the 1000 clutch is weaker than the 1200 clutch.

If the motor has had no work done to it then it should hold to power shouldn't it?

Be a little careful.

I went to replace the clutch on an A12 using the clutch from an A10 and it was actually considerably smaller than the standard A series 180mm clutch.

Not sure why the A10 would use something different. Unless mine was an odd-ball clutch.

if you have problems change the flywheels over. drive it properly and you should have no probs (no launches from the lights)

if it's for standard application, the A10 clutch will survive, the A10 clutch doesn't bolt onto an A12 flywheel, if the A12 has been fitted to the A10 gearbox chances are it has the A10 flywheel or been modded to fit..
