Glad to hear! it makes sence to me and Im no carb doctor lol. In my understanding its the same as if you would put your hand over a carb while the motor runs and you sit with a wet fuel soaked hand. But in your case the butterflys did it

Right idea yeah, obviously when you stick your hand over you get massive fuel from the ventury, mine would have just been from the idle and pump jet, still enough to cause big problems.

Yeh carbs are the reason for me going EFI. I got twin SU's after the A12 I had with the same setup. It worked mint!!! I got 200km/h out of the A12! I was looking for better results with my A14, little did I know SU's are difficult to get parts to tune them and then it's hit and miss with needles. Bugger that!!!! Since I had the quad throttlebodies on I haven't looked back. Even when I didn't know that they don't produce much vacuum and even when I was getting 14L/100km I didn't look back. Now I'm running Megasquirt and my economy and power are up and throttle response is GREAT!!! EFI For The Win!!!!!

Tuning on the fly is so much easier, oh its running a little lean on that corner..... adjust there and fixed!!! Easy.

I am not a tech who has done a course, nor am I a rich mofo who can buy the planet with daddy's money. I have done it the hard way all myself except my manifold which a mate whipped up for me. EFI is much easier to learn than mechanics, there's no hit and miss with electronics, only precise measurements that work time and time again.

As for the EFI A-series, Mine sounds mint with quad throttlebodies!!

Ian I had a look at those 2 pics you put up yesterday. Is that slide done by going in hard and tapping off or do you have a LSD it there?

Going in way to fast, letting off, let it slide then controlling it by throttle, if you dont go in fast enough and you slide it you get to much body roll then you just spin up the inside tire usualy resulting in it looping :-p

plz note my suspension is rebuilt to OE spec, its not modded. I do have a 19mm front sway bar as I am told a few of our local market B110's had.

I am seriously in the market for a LSD though, i dont want to weld at all! thinking of having Phantom-grip make one up as I do not see myself spending R14k on a mechanical unit... to make matters worse I have the Borg Warner diff as stock which while it is seriously strong it is also left out when it comes to aftermarket bits.

http://www.extrudabody.biz/servlet/De ... IDF&no=92&searchpath=3876 boy these would work a treat on the A15! the quality of their machining is amazing and you can adapt it to suit your needs... wish I knew about these guys sooner!

I got the same diff in my one. Im hunting around for the old alfa spider or berlina diff bolts in and a very nice strong LSD. Even harder to find than a gx head in SA.

I don't mean to sound nasty Rezlo - but is there anyone else in your part of the world who is fully versed with webers? Gotta be honest, if he couldn't notice a big crack, and thinks flimsy linkages are 'ok' (hell that's practically the first thing ANYONE will say about multicarb setups - use sturdy consistent reliable linkages or don't even bother trying) - I have to wonder whether he deserves any reputation as a carb guru.

This 'should' have been checked - but are hte needle and seats definitely new?? if they have a ridge worn into them, you can 'trick' them into closing right with a lower float setting which pushes them harder by the time the fuel level is where it ought to be, but then when you expose them to odd conditions (like high g forces) they can sort of 'stick' on the ridge and not close properly, and start flooding the carb (on decel likely as not!) alternately they can have the 'right' float setting at idle, but then when fuel demand increases that 'too low' float static setting starts to actually limit the fuel coming into the fuel bowl just enough to lower it's level, leaning it out - usually at the end of a straight as you get near peak rpms in top gear, just before the braking area).

just random thoughts
