All the credit goes to wetdriftwarrior, who suggested the idea in this topic.

Unfortunately I tried to merge his better idea with the existing basic idea and got it confused. So I ended up creating this sticky.

I'd just like to add to that, when stating country and more specific locations if it's South Australia make sure you put Australia in the heading first.

These things only work if the moderators strictly enforce that people comply, otherwisee there's no point.

It's a good idea as it makes the ads a lot more easy to read and also you're more inclined to take them seriously if people have put time into making them properly.

Poor adverts may not find any buyers. Good adverts will. The seller is responsible for the quality of his ad.

This is non-moderated forum. Anyone can post immediately, unlike some sites where the post does not appear until a moderator approves it. The site moderators are three, and we don't have time to review every classified. So it is part of the territory.

can we possibly make it so it comes up all the time when u go to put a forsale ad up? ie "new forsale ad" button?

just a thaught, that way it is compulsory, kinda gettin fed up trying to decypher through peoples info etc

The layout and photos for the website templates are ideal for use as an online classified ads website.Joomla announce the release of new Joomla template called Classifieds Plazza. Classified Plazza has been designed to fulfill the needs for Joomla Ads / Classified related template.I think it would be awesome to have a nicely designed Classified Ads and/or Auction template.

It is a good guideline..but..

After seeing other forums failing because of overmoderation relating to classifieds templates, I dont agree that this is a good idea.
It would be better to only allow people with their profile location specified to have ability to post in classifieds.
Alternatively create a classifieds web form with mandatory fields to start a classifieds thread.

The need to enforce something means its not the best thing for everyone.

It will create arguments and will detract from the community.
