Best fan is the stock ones. I've seen so many electric fans overheat. That may be your problem, especially if you just fitted it.

Thermo-stat gasket is about $3 at any auto parts store.

When I first got my coupe I drove it from the thansport depot in Sydney to my home which was about 85 miles to the south. It ran on the verge of overheating all the way & was saved only by the fact that it was a cold day with a strong wind blowing straight at me & into the radiator with plenty bof light to medium rain.

I replaced the water pump & all related rubber parts. A check into the radiator revealed only six or so visible tubes, four of which were completely blocked.

I was going to replace the core with a heavy duty one, but one was not available at the time & was going to take too long to make, so I settled on a stock replacement.
Thanks to the cheesecloth condom filter, I have never had a moments cause for concern ever since, neither in summer heatwave or in recent sleet conditions.

Returning the whole cooling system to essentially new, & stock condition is always a good start & a heavy duty radiator is never a waste of money, just make sure that the thermostat is of a suitable heat range & is actually installed. [& not left on the bench]

Instead of getting a 3 core radiator, they suggested to clean mine because it was a special order for the 3 core and that my radiator was in really great shape. So I got my radiator cleaned and painted. I put it on today and wala...the temp stays around 1/4 in idle for more than 30 min. and if i rev it up a little, the gauge will start going down. Now back to get my car ready for another import auto show in Atco, New Jersey. Hopefully I make it this time...

Yes, there's absolutely no need for 3-core radiator. 2-core radiator will cool even an A14 -- if it's in good condition.

That's true, and more now that it's starting to get chilly around here. I don't barely use it unless it's for shows or a really sunny weekend.
