thought it was about time to start photo log of the wagons progress, almost finished patching rust now after going at it for a month

anyways for those who dont know, this will be replacing the sedan as my daily and most/all of the good stuff from the sedan will be put onto the wagon. things like the CA18, r32/33 brakes, front coilovers and adjustable arms, r31 diff so on and so forth

it will also be getting some things that the sedan missed out on, like an actual paint job
and other things like a new fixed back fibreglass race seat for the drivers seat, retrimmed back seats, and other things mostly engine related like an r31/32 gearbox to replace teh r30 stumpy, mild rebuild to get some reliability (new bearings and rings, metal headgasket, timing belt, rebuilt head etc) upped boost to 10psi and it should be good to go. expecting it to be a fair bit quicker than it was in the sedan

anyways, i was going to upload some pics...but dexters on so ill do it another time

Just got put on to a guy out my way with a heap of 1200's ( he owns a bog stock solid little wagon)and Z's. Apparently according to me panel beater mate he has heaps. Will see if he has a roof if ya still chasin one. Dexter is cool the the uncut Austar version is better though.

i like it. stylish 1200 wagon, with turbocharged efi smoothness and reliability. will make a cool street cruiser, possibly the coolest!

good choice, do yourself a favour and make it look tame, a sleeper..

Absolut maniac work, a man possessed I must say, last time I saw this kind of work
to salvage a wagon was by phunkdoctaspok. I just wonder if its worthwhile to weld
up the rear doors and windows and have oval moon windows?
You definitely have the skill and youll have the only van in Australia.
I really like how youve progressed and evolved your sedan and now choosing a rare
1200 to put all the bits onto. Thanks for the pics!

thanks guys

dont really know if i can pull off the sleeper look ange, it will be as much of a sleeper as the sedan...just a bit neater
will look alot like the old lagwagon, but without the coolness of roof racks

yeah D im thinking it would have been alot easier time and effort wise to just buy the other wagon i was looking at. then i would have only had to do half as much work....but then it was free vs $1000+
and figured that coz it wasnt the best shell to start with and didnt cost me anything it doesnt matter if i attack the crap out of it with the angle grinder

got a little bit done tonight, ground back the welds in the drivers rear quarter and the tunnel welds in the engine bay....need to practice heating and shrinking panels now to fix 2 bits that have slightly warped, advie anyone?
