been a while waiting for the rear arm stuff to turn up from America, is on its way now so should have it the end of next week
made up the bottom arm mounts and lower coilover mounts, all kinda guess work at the moment as the leaf mounts are still on the diff and in the way of properly mocking the mounts up. but im pretty sure it should work to set it all up at the ride height without the leaves in there was fun, putting it on the hoist to hold the body and set the height and jack stands to hold the diff times like these that a 4 post hoist would be handy ![]() ![]() bottom mounts should hopefully explain themselves. coilover mount will be the same type of rode setup that's used for the top mounts. the pipe is representing the diff tube ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() also put the new carpet and sound deadening in, took much longer than i thought it would, but seems to fit fairly well, the tunnel is a little out of shape so obviously isnt exactly the same shape as an auto one. also a little annoying that they marked out where the shifter hole is and cut the handbrake hole even though i said not to as they arent in the standard spots ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

its a little over my head too, never really looked into it much
but 2 link stuff is pretty easy as there isnt a lot of geometry that will be changing with the suspention travel that i need to set up, if it was 5 link or diagonal 4 link it would be a bit more indepth. nothing a bit of reading couldnt get you through though also trying to hunt down some Chromoly tube for the rear arms, proving to be a little harder than i thought it would be, and a little more expensive

Fun times. one of my turbo water lines has cracked and emptied most of my water out. thankfully it did this overnight while it was in the garage so i could tell i no longer had coolant in the car coz it was all over the ground
so 3 hours of engine bay disassembly later and i have the old water pipe out....now just gotta remake it out of steel and trey to fit it back in

also found that my heater core had a slight leak in it when i did the carpet. or atleast took notice of the leak when i did the carpet.
Got a price on a new core, $290. or $90 if i could find a decent core and some nn cracked end tanks to use, which i couldnt did however find out that an r33 heater core is almost the right size to fit in the heater box. so with a bit of cutting to the back of the heater box and some custom made outlets for the heater core i now have a non leaking heater again. its also all alloy so much lighter than the old heater core and should last for a decent amount of time all my stuff for the rear end turned up yesterday also so i'll get onto making the rear arms and hopefully have the coils in in the next week or so

and now for the cooler stuff
step 1, remove all the old crap that will hopefully never be seen in the car again ![]() Step 2, inspect the room you have to work with ![]() Step 3, prepare the diff for much cooler mounts ![]() Step 4, cut and weld stuff till it looks cool ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 5, marvel at awesomeness ![]() ![]() ![]() not too bad for a days work i dont think, especially considering i was still driving the car with leaves in it at 11am yesterday and stopped working around midnight only have the top diff mounts to build, then figure out the length of the top arms and get the other tube ends tigged, and tig the top arm mounts to the bottom arms and the rear end should be done. or done enough to be pulled out and all the mounts welded up off the car then will have to check where the brake lines can go and make the rear section of the exhaust go under the diff. hoping to have it drivable monday night as i probably wont get to do any more to it till sunday arvo or monday You can view topic.
