With the standard steering arm, the two holes for bolting the arm to the bottom of the strut & the hole for the balljoint are all the a line ie the centres all line up. With the 200B steering arm, the hole for the balljoint is not in line with the other 2, it is offset towards the car.
So when the parts are all bolted together, the bottom of the strut is further out with the 200b steering arm than it would be with the Stanza/Sunny steering arm. this is where it gets the increase in track width & negative camber. It's like fitting longer lower control arms but a lot easier. the spacer shown is for cars with short struts. Some are so short that the tie rod end is out of parallel with the lower control arm. When the wheel hits a bump, the wheel will physically turn & steer the car without any input from the steering wheel. makes for a twitchy car, usually under brakes. the spacer is used to get the steering arm lowered & get the lower control arm & tie rod end back parallel.

thought i'd add an update,

we have given it a good going over, fixed up a lot of patches that needed a bit of work to get them nice and straight.

we have re-sprayed with white primer again and it looks much like the last photo still

Have also done some test spraying of a couple of spare gaurds mucking around with colours. I have found the colour i am after and am going to use a pearl to highlight the body lines of the car... with some good weather it should be coloured up this or next weekend

I also have found a badge that i have been searching for for some time, with my custom plates and hopefully i can get my bumpers powder coated, im getting a lot of bits ready to complete the look im after

getting excited...

still need to find some 200b steering arms and sort out my interior. hmmm theres lots to do even after the colour hits it

im running 200b steering arms in my car

dont think its quite a 15mm increase...would have thought more like 5-10mm
ive also got adjustable LCAs, so the steering arms are more for brake disc clearance now than anything else

also really need to make up a spacer for the balljoint as the taper of the 200b steering arm is slightly more than the stanza balljoint

yay, hit it with some colour today, unfortunately the gun dripped on to the bonnet so we didnt get to hit it with pearl. have to wait for the paint to dry so we can sand the drips out nicely, but we will sand the majority of the colour coat now before we pearl it to hopefully get a better finish that way anyway, enjoy the pics
