any one running std taco with a ca in a 1200

wired up std 1200 taco to coil power fead wire,blue with a red trace on ca18de works well and is correct tommo

May be able to wire in parallel too, so that the old tacho connectors don't become a single point of failure for the ignition.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but can you guys help with mine ? Where does the loop wire on the back of a standard tacho connect to ?

Thought you couldnt run it off the CA harness as they run digital Tacho. Off the coil makes sense though kind of.

But its a looped wire... If I connect it to both sides of the coil, wont it short the coil ?

power for the coil runs past the taco. there is a loop of wire on the back of the taco, when the coil fires the power running in the loop will pulse witch will create a feild, the taco picks up the feild. to connect to a ca or any motor the power wire for the coil,igniter, coil pack ect must past thru looped wire. black wire with white trace. the same wire for std setup will plug into loom/not late modle ute, connection not there. tommo

Thanks Tommo, Unfortunately mine is an 81 ute and doesn't appear to have anything in the loom... I guessed the pulse must come from the coil to one end of the wire, but where does the other end connect to ?

power wire at coil black white trace,disconnect from coil it needs to connect to one end of wire loop,other end to coil power thru loop to coil if it dont work swop the wires over on taco loop tommo
