May be able to wire in parallel too, so that the old tacho connectors don't become a single point of failure for the ignition.

Thought you couldnt run it off the CA harness as they run digital Tacho. Off the coil makes sense though kind of.

But its a looped wire...
If I connect it to both sides of the coil, wont it short the coil ?

power for the coil runs past the taco.
there is a loop of wire on the back of the taco,
when the coil fires the power running in the loop will pulse
witch will create a feild, the taco picks up the feild.
to connect to a ca or any motor the power wire for the coil, igniter,
coil pack ect must past thru looped wire. black wire with white trace.
the same wire for std setup will plug into loom/not late modle ute,
connection not there.

Thanks Tommo,
Unfortunately mine is an 81 ute and doesn't appear to have anything in the loom...
I guessed the pulse must come from the coil to one end of the wire, but where does the other end connect to ?

Cheers

power wire at coil black white trace, disconnect from coil
it needs to connect to one end of wire loop, other end to coil
power thru loop to coil
if it dont work swop the wires over on taco loop
