yeah a panhard will require some fabricating, you'll need to weld a mount on the chassis and the diff but it's not a huge amount of work. the leafs in mine have been reset by about 2 inches plus about half inch blocks but i'm also running pretty low profile tyres on 13's which makes it nice and low without any clearance issues.
so when you say wheelspin is it spinning both wheels or just doing single spinners? and is it sorta pitching around and tankslapping when it starts to drift sideways? with a locker the car becomes much more predictable sideways and will respond much better to any power inputs, can help the car to squat and launch out of corners much more nicely as well. and you won't need a new centre, just pull your current one out and weld up the spider gears, make sure not to weld the crown gear haha. but yeah if you're a bit unexperienced take it easy til you learn the car, they can catch you out.
with cutting springs make sure to take note of the fact that as you cut a spring shorter it becomes stiffer, reverse logic i know but as you have less and less coils it means each coil is compressed more and becomes stiffer for the same amount of travel.
to truly test your suspension and see what it can handle you need to get out on the track, you'll never get close to the limit without getting close to the end of our life on the road.

yeah so true,
i dont want to push it to hard on the street
and pushing it harder on the track seems somewhat pointless cus if i need a track to find what i need to do with it whats the point? cus its a daily driver :)
anyways, can you buy panhard rods?
then ill just have to fab up some #OOPS# under the tray.
um, should i just head to my local wrecking yard to pick up those springs.
also
would eurothane bushings make a differnce?
and also, with a locked diff, will i snap my driveshafts?
or put them under and extreme stresses?
i just dont want to be out of pocket when i buy a new center after i snap a heap of #OOPS# in the diff thats all
:)
thanks so much for your help guys :D

I've been running a locked H165 on the track for 4 seasons of supersprints and hillclimbs and everytime I pull the axles out they look fine. The same axles saw service in countless seasons of speedway racing before I started using them as well, so they seem to be fairly strong. Usually they'll twist at the spline before they snap, so if you keep an eye on them you should be right.
Urethane bushes will tighten things up as well, but if you're driving on dirt roads a lot i wouldn't recommend them, don't seem to last as long as rubber ones on the rough stuff.

okay thanks for that, how do i find out what diff i have?
cheers for the help mate

yeah a locked diff can tend to snap axles but it's a risk you take i suppose, shouldn't do it very often. umm well you should be able to buy them off the shelf from somewhere, all it is is a bar with two holes on either end, one to mount to the diff and the other to the chassis. you could probably even find one of a car that comes standard with a 4 link, like a celica or something. i'm not too sure though cause the one i'm putting in my car is just a custom rose jointed one from an race car so yeah.

and it's always good to get on the track, the road just doesn't come close to comparing. it'll take the hoon out of you on the street

haha, or make you want to skid more lollll
what do you recon it would cost to get an a15 stamped to an a12?

wolki101 Posted on: 2009/9/15 9:16
haha yeah but only if you leave it too long between track days, i find the track takes the hoon outta me for about 2 months, but at least when it flicks out on the road i know what to do instead of spinning out like i did so many times at the track lol.
umm i dunno, sounds pretty dodgy so you'd have to find someone real dodgy to do it, personally i'd just put the a15 in and not worry about it, it's unlikely you'll get fined for it and i'm pretty sure the fines for something like fraud are not the sort i'd wanna cop lol

thats true yes, but if it has a12 stamped onto it, the cops wont look into it at all
:)
just thinking when my a12 gets abit worn out, poor old girl, im thinking go a pretty worked a15, all internals cus im not allowed any engine mods on my car, so if its internals they shouldnt find out. :)
