Humm, im not sure if your aware but from my knoledge s13 struts in smaller cars ke70's, coronas, celicas etc and possibly 1200's puts the geometry out of wack, track wise, stub axle angle, strut angle im told it is not the greatest of conversions for smaller older cars

TUF, isn't this more or less the same when you install longer LCA, pillow ball mounts, adjustable track rods.

My biggest concern is the steering arms.

Yeah I won't give up on this project but things have slowed down with the whole category death cyclone that hit etc. I've been thinking about shocks and struts the whole time and as I will be using these for off road stuff more than tarmac the unit I'll end up with will probly be a Koni 2816 or 2817 inverted monotube as a base. I'd love to trust some cheap coil overs with the task but I gather they're just not meant for people to use them that harshly since they're not long stroke shocks.

These come in a variety of lengths and valving options from koni to suit your McPherson Strut project.

I know there's some sorting out to do with this TUF-110 but the consensus around my motorsport friends is that it's still a viable option. Sure I've thought about just getting R31 struts and doing a coilover conversion on those but unless I am serious about PRC regs (it'd be nice to be a filler in these events show some of them old boys how I pedal) I'd rather try this. Also I'm hungry and need donuts.

I'll get back one of my 910 bluebird arms for playing around with, did you get those over there Racetech? I will start taking more assembly pics with a focus on sussing out the geometry, I really need to refresh my maths skills :P

I think we had something like that in RSA, but not that sure, I'm not really worried about LCA, I'll build my own or mod it to fit and work.

I just want adjustable bump and rebound coil overs, if 58mm ID spring fit I'll be thru the roof, but my car will be more a tar rally car, so it needs to be low.

Have a look at my project thread, I'm not scared of work, cutting or modding, as long as my 1200 looks like a 1200 from the outside I'm happy, the inside is a different story all together and my play ground.

going to have a couple of days off in a few weeks so I'll do some more on this like measuring up the ackerman angle and distance needed for the tierod to avoid bump steer. I think one of those tieods made out of an eyelet joint and spacer would sort it out nicely but would definately get you a no lube session with mr Plod and his aqquaintance mr Dot
