fair comments, thanks..... keeping orignal front (with a spoiler) and chrome bumpers. i just never really liked the coupe rear lights and to be honest never really liked the 300zx lights either but thought they looked good in the pic (photoshop) im not to sure on the scorpion look, either way having fun with it, bit of a challenge.

I usually hate these type of things, but this one does look good and being all nissan makes it more acceptable. the overall shape of the rear end does look like a sigma scorpion but thats not a bad thing.

i like where this is going, very nice. i was thionking similar when i had the ute but hilux lights.
Still looking at the sedan now, theres a lot of lat metal there that could be adapted faily easily to more modern lights.

Sorry, I'm with D on this one... It's excellent work though, really. However, the 300ZX is a soul less antiseptic excuse for a car. What's great about older cars are the body angle breaks and the trim parts. Flush glass, seamless transitions of lights and body panels, integrated bumpers, etc... Modern cars look like cars with cheese melted over them. I do applaud the need to do something original though. I think you're going to have to go all the way though since you've done all this work. I would shave off the rest of the trim, gutters, vents, etc.. Otherwise the back is going to look very incongruous with the rest of the car. I would have used '71 Skyline GTR tail lights for something different but still keeping with the period.. Sorry to rant on like this! Your fab skills are impressive!

(If you used 180b or 240k rear end with the full backing Id be impressed but Im afraid its looking like some 80s Yanky 80s trans-am wanabee.) i can see your point, i tryed 6 or 7 types of lights these (300zx) and corvette tail lights where the only ones i liked. personal choice i suppose.
