thanx man i only just got this post but had already purchassed a holy blue on the w/e cause every automotive place i went to told me holly blue was the only one in that range i needed so i got one i also have a malpassi r/r reg
so i installedthem and it seemed that it was over fueling and spluttering so i comp tested my engine piston 1,3,4 like 180psi and no.2 was 80 so decided to take my engine out and check/rebuild it wen i stripped it i noticed no marks in the piston barrel so i took the pistons out and on no.2 between the rings it was all cracked and bits missing so now my plans are a full rebuild im going to send my cam of to get reground new pistons new rings (possibly forged pistons depending on $$$) probbably double valve springs aswell also i might aswell get my sump modded to b larger and get it baffled
is there anything anyone can recomend to this build as i do not kno that much about ??

wen i get time i will have to start a project build on this engine.

Use the PROCOMP Blue!
PROCOMP BLUE

I was having fuel lean out problems as well with my blow-through supercharger. Just wasn't pushing enough pressure. I up'd my fuel line diameter to 5/16" and went with the Blue pump as well as a Mallory 4309 Regulator.

At idle with vacuum, my pressure is around 7-8 psi. When during fuel boost, it increases to 14 psi. I am currently using twin 32/36's with 115 jets on the mains and 140 jets on the secondarys. Full Boost is at 10 psi.
I fought lean out for along time and didn't want to pay the Holley pump price. The Procomp is the same as the Holley except a lot less expensive. At $59.99 its a steal and it even comes with an adjustable lighter spring to reduce the pressure to around 7 psi if you want to reduce the pressure.
Procomp has many other items. Fuel Regulators as well.

now im just chassing a fuel pump but dont have 300 bucks spare for a holley blue one has anyone got any other recomendations on wot one to get in that psi range??

ive never heard of the hobbs switch and would just say that at the moment its another thing to go wrong so leave it out. get you fuel pressure sorted out and we'll see what happens

Then use a fuel solenoid switched via a hobbs switch.

A rising rate fuel pressure regulator and electric fuel pump capable of over 10psi is what you need. You need to understand that a pressure difference between the fuel pressure and air pressure must be maintaned to achieve good mixtures. Take for example a N/A carby setup fuel pressure is about 3psi greater than manifold pressure ever is. So when boosting you need to increase fuel pressure accordingly to boost. 7psi boost should have about 10psi fuel pressure etc etc. i have not had any problems with the carby not holding pressure or draining the fuel bowl (i drilled the needle orrifice out to about 2.5mm and adjust the float level after of course)

As far as the hole on the 32/36 weber that is a fuel bowl vent or something and i found it best to block it off. i am running the same tubro and same carb as you and have had no problems with lean mixtures (if anything i over did the jets and it runs quite rich on secondary.)

I am running a holley blue electric pump with a malpassi r/r reg for a carb. I also modified the tank to have a 5/16" pickup and put a filter (plastic ryco one) before the pump and a Z200 after the pump.

I have also been told (like someone has already said) The fuel pressure should always be 2psi more than the boost. This is ment to stop the boost in the carb affecting the fuel pressure which makes sense. I have also read that plastic floats are better than brass ones as the wont collapse under boost. rising rate regs will also help maintain fuel pressure under boost conditions.

Just spoke to him. He hasn't made any progress yet but he will call after lunch with a response. He's a pretty busy man running a workshop and crash shop so hopefully he finds the time to get it finalised.

That's cool with the weber plate. I'm looking at getting a weber soon but it's all pipeline project work.
