nah you dont need a booster, might need a coupe or 120y master cylinder and the rear wheel cylinders to suit though

or you will need the rear wheel cylinders, but can probably survive with the master cylinder you have though

What would I need to do to fit R31 struts in a 120y?
Is there a difference in ride hight?

look on the first page, says what you need
as it says, you cant use the stock r31 springs or perchs, they need to be cut off and replaced with 1200 ones. so ride height will depend on where the new spring perch is located and what sorta springs you are using. if they get welded on at the same height as they were on the original struts and you use the same springs the ride height will be the same

" Larger Datsun struts

What you will need to make them bolt straight in:
This applies to all the struts listed below

Strut Top and Upper Spring Perch
-Standard 1200 ones

Lower Control Arms
-Stanza (A10), Sunny (B310), Late 1200 Ute or Late 120y

Castor rods
-Late 1200 Ute or Late 120y

Ball joints, Steering arms, Outer Tie rod Ends, Tie rods
-Stanza or Sunny

FOR R31 type struts, you will also need a sheer load spacer ring available from datsport
FOR all larger struts other than Stanza and sunny you will need to cut the spring perches off and run 1200 sized ones, or run coilovers. "

Ok, so if I understand this, and the swo into the 120Y is the same as into the 1200, need:

R31 Strut (Does it matter what year or model?)
120Y Lower Control Arms (Which I've obviously got)
120Y Castor rods (Which I've obviously got)

Ball joints, Steering arms, Outer Tie rod Ends, Tie rods

Heres the question, the above listed, would only stanza or sunny parts work, or can I use these from the 120Y also?
Do I also need the load spacers?

as long as its an australian assembled R31 all the struts are the same, its only the imported ones that are different

if you have a late 120y then all you really need are stanza balljoints and steering arms

it will al go together and work without the load spacer, but the loads werent designed to be supported by the bolts alone so its probably a good idea to get them. not hard to lathe some up out of the right sized tube if you can get access to a lathe

hmm, I'm in south Africa, so I'm pretty sure they are locally assembled. So I have no clue yet as to how they're struts look.
Hmm, need parts from 2 cars, thats gonna be exciting to get hold of LOL, I'll see if I can get some pics of struts from here and post them up for comment.

Is datsun spec requared or a preferance? There are other strats that also works. Maby more work to install but parts are easy to get hold of. Just an idea....
