Just as a comparison I'll offer this up: circa 1992 I purchased a complete 280ZX front brake & suspension set up, it came with crossmember, radius rods, coil over struts, two sets of springs , Tokico dampers and tie rod ends etc. 280ZX calipers and discs. The total set up was $1100 USD. Keep in mind while the Tokico's were new everything was used, lightly used but still used and I had to mix and match rod ends to get the sway bar hooked up. So 17 years ago a used set up cost me $1100..............so while I can't speak for MADDAT $3000 is not out of line, grab some old Nissan Motorsports price list or look up prices on from Japan. This stuff is not cheap I would suggest you look up prices for DMS struts for a Subaru WRX or vintage Escort parts.
No I wouldn't pay that much but I have a fabricator and am willing to sort things on my own.

The first mod I did on my Ute project was to purchase the original strut setups from MADDAT (which since have changed), I knew I was going to make my Ute go, so firstly I wanted to make it stop. I paid something like $14oo to $17oo around about (can't really remember now might have included the booster as well) - but it was the simple bolt in pleasure and assurance of safety that made it all worth while. I since have gone 3 ways in purchasing a sick gas welder which we can now do body work and fab up some cross members etc. There are many backyard mechanics out there - me and my mates included, but Scott and the crew at MADDAT know their #OOPS# and know what they are on about. Ofcourse branching out and making a company out of something you love and wanting it to do well is everyone's dream and it's hard work. I say good luck to them, I still purchase items off them and will continue to for convienence. If you have the skills, talent and time to source & fab up ALL your necessary parts to build a race car - I am seriously jealous, but for the rest of us and the noobs to building cars....... MADDAT can help. Realistically there is no 'bolt in' parts out there, you need to get your hands dirty and often modify to make fit 'most' of the time. This should be brought to peoples attention when forum subject states "What is needed to fit a SR into a 1200 Ute?" Getting on forums and slagging off the prices is fair game, MADDAT knows that.

I'd say it's money well spent!! just the other day on here there was a thread about one of the perth boy having some issue with a sway bar popping out or some thing, it was one of maddats parts. anyway scott form maddat got on and asked about it and in the end said he'd send over some new parts to sort it out. i'd say that's great service and service with a smile at that. and yeah it is an open tread so speak your mind and everyone has the right to

It's like saying Ferraris are overprice "who in his right mind would pay that when they could get a brand new GM for a fraction of the price"

yeah his gear is pricey, but i dont think you should flame him for busting his balls. being a fabricator myself, its not had for me to work out how and where all the money goes into these products!!
good on ya for doing it your self, but theres no need to rag on companies that produce qaulity products, no matter what they charge!!

My last trip to the parts shop for regular replacment struts and a set of brake pads and shoes is more than what my sedan is insurable for. Unfortunaly one of the bad parts of moding a car with next to no retail and insurable value...
