clyons theres a complete 1000 in sydney im looking at. As soon as i get a chance to go up im gona check it out. me and a mate going halves if its any good and then gona look into a 12a if one pops up that isnt overpriced.

im a 1000 guy so a 12a is the way the go, much shorter and as mentioned before the weight. not only that but on what would be a budget (read student) build staying carbied would be the way to go.

Same.

I'm a student and I'm looking for another Thou too.

The red one is too good for a daily. I had a dream that someone ripped it to bits when I left it in the car park, I woke up in a rage and actually went outside to check it was there!

There are heaps for sale at the moment and one for sale in almost every state, it is a great time to buy as people looking interstate will be more attracted to the ones nearest to them. And the number of 1000's for sale ensures the competition isn't concentrated on one vehicle.

Matto1kute did an e15T conversion and apparently it was pretty powerful.

There are four 1000's for sale in Adelaide at the moment.

Two in QLD.

Six in Vic.

Two or Three in NSW.

And one in TAS.

Not sure about WA though.

could you please point me in the direction of the 1000's that you know of in NSW?
And as far as your dream goes, dont go cheap on your car security, its worth spending money on especially if you baby your car. i have only had my licence for 5 years and have had 4 break ins, my wheels stolen, and 1 car stolen. It has left me in a lot of debt, and now im paranoid about car security.

Yeah I should.

I'm not very careful with securing my 1000, I am getting better at it. People are always looking in on it and to tell you the truth, it #OOPS#s me to tears.

The two in NSW: One ute (maybe) two on carsales and there's the 68 sedan on ebay that doesn't have a picture. Sounds a bit shagged though.

13b is not much heavier, all rotaries are now impossible to engineer/pass
to get on the road.
You will find rotary noise and mufflers will be permanent headache especially
there is no room for exhaust outlets unless you tilt the 12a and no room
for mufflers underneath without scraping when lowered for handling.

what do you mean by saying the Datsun 1000 has no room for mufflers? Do rotary engines require larger mufflers than other engines?

never had a problem getting my 13b turbo 1200 engineered.its all about how the car is setup

as for an exhaust i had heaps of room. and both convertions have to have an exhuast run under the car.

there is pretty much no difference with a 12a to a 13b in weight

id like to line a standard ca18det up against my standard 13b turbo 1200 ute. see how many car lengths i can pull away from you. eats worked ones. i might have to get a bigger rear view mirror so i can see you back there
