the reason the exhaust will burn out is the car is over fueled to the max and shoots flames out the exhuast. this is probably why you have gone to a ca18det. because you never had ur rotary going right.

if you have burnt a rotaflow out in six months id give them a call. as they quote it wont happen

Thanks. I've just been reading up on this. Rotaflow uses stainless & fibreglass, large diameter (8") mufflers. Racing Beat (who has more years of experience) recommends for modified rotaries: no fibreglass, but either stainless or heavy duty steel wall mufflers. Their muffler look smaller diameter but still fairly large diameter than the typical flat oval mufflers that Datsun sedans use. The ute has plenty of room ...

The mufflers are glass packed, how does it last?
The high-density fiberglass packing is protected by a layer of stainless steel mesh. This prevents the hot exhaust gases from rotary engines destroying the fiberglass.

Why are you jumping to conclusions that I run a CA?
Why are you recommending someone do a rotary conversion
on a 1000 when theres is not even one running registered
or a completed road going one?
You can promote rotaries all you want in a 1200 but
in a 1000 they are a big headache and like I said in NA
they will need a jumbo tunnel for a normal exhaust.
Im presenting points of view whether you like it or not
please dont send me low life PMs telling me F F, that Im
a typical Nissan only freak and to keep my mouth shut.
It just shows how small you are.
Also if you had some logic youd work out that someone
who does a rotor conversion is not going to put a standard
second hand RX factory exhaust in.
Let alone buy one from Mazda as NOS to put in a 1000.
If you check at Mazda they dont sell factory exhausts for
NA rotors unless you buy rx8 ones which cost thousands.

If the guy is prepared to put a 12a and spend $500 on a muffler
that might burn out its up to him. Either way just presenting
obstacles and possible scenarios. Racing Beat know their stuff
and are very expensive but its up to the quality someone is chasing.

in a previouse post you told me ive never fitted a rotary to a 1000 and you have and i know nothing about the convertion. now ur telling me no one has ever got one going. so im guessing you never got the car going or you never had one.

the reason im promoting the rotary into a 1000 is because ppl like you tell him he cant. just as everyone told me id never be able to get it done in my car.

you also posted earlier you cant get a rotary mod plated in a datsun and i have.

i think you should keep ur comments to urself as you know nothing..

everything you have said is utter crap. best you just go on ur merry little way and talk #OOPS# somewhere else

You seem to have a problem beyond reading and comprehension.
You say everyone told you youd never be able to get a rotor done
in your 1200? who are you trying to kid? 1200 with rotors are nothing new.
Take it easy with the ego or you should try Boostcruising or a similar
forum as there are heaps of Peter Panners there. This is a Datsun loving site and to your surprise there are Pro-datsun/Nissan engine loving members willing
to give alternatives.

1000 and 1200 are completely different beasts.
If the guy wants to do an NA rotor in a 1000 its up to him
no one is forcing his arm. He best know the facts and the laws.
