Having bad missfire issues when engine reaches high temps and are putting it down to dodgy coil packs. I have seen the super spark upgrade for $400 but also seen the bosch set ups. my question is has anybody done the bosch coil pack upgrade, with standard computer but higher than stock boost. hearing mixed stories about it working and not working something about dwel timing or something. any advice would be great at this time. trying not to spend more money than i need to, to get same results. cheers

another set of stock ones and dont run the cover on them?

also read a couple of the bosch coil upgrade tutorial things that people have written, some say that you need to get the ecu remapped for the different dwell setting others dont mention it
so yeha its a bit confusing as to wether they didnt need to do it or if they just forgot to mention it

dazza, they straight wire up job?
also would you know anything about LS2 coils? apparently they are a fair bit smaller than LS1 coils (they must nearly be invisable)

Im using the bosch too, but i chucked a shedload of sheckles at autronic stuff to run it.
I would stick with the standard stuff unless you are willing to go all aftermarket.

Dont buy second hand stuff either, that will lead to heartache and carpet fires on the left side of your car.. Been there, before i did it properly.

-Ben did you have to make computer changes to get the bosch coils workings cos i getting mixed stories. i have read the nissan silvia thread it seems easy enough to do but people have posted about needed to modify computer to suit. i cant really afford to be changing computer at this stage. the enigne looking pretty sweet though.

-Dattodude did you notice a difference from standard coils to bosch ones once you got them working
