did you import the dash frame as well or are you just going to weld a bit of bent up steel behind the secondary gauge section to mount those on?

I'm going to mount aftermarket gauges from behind onto dash facia, I have standard gauges but prefer to mix old n new in a discreet fashion.

Finally found some time for the datsun, building a sim lead me off track for a while. Good thing that the sims in the shed, it made me look at the 120 while stuff was loading!
Found some seats im happy with so made some rails of the existing ones to mount them. Not sure with Regency about the no headrest thing???... still have standard ones if it gets to hard.
Finished off properly mounting the radiator with some threads welded into the support panel along some crush tubes. Also made up some bottom mounts.
Started the hairy task of modifying Fuel tank. Stripped 180sx tank of the interior to mount into standard 120y tank. Shaped tank to suit large mount ring, now have to start welding in and tidying lip up.

Hi Ranny here and have been watching your build as i have a 75 model Y that has an S15 sr20de underway. I also purchased a maddat kit and was interested if you cut the radiator support panel to enable engine and box to be put in together or because you have a huge radiator to fit in a small hole. The engine sits forward on the kit and even more on S15 with cam cover hump. Your car looks great what rear end are you going to use?.
Cheers Ranny

Radiator is one similar to one used on 1600 sr conversions through datsport . I ordered mine without top plate so I could get it to fit snug. To gain some space cut back rad support from where it starts to taper in. Also you can machine off the smallest hub (for power steering) on balancer, that'll free up some forward space.
Glad to see there some love for poor old 120y's :)

Had meeting with engineer last night and discussed all current/future mods. Glad to say everything is good to go. Only thing I can't get through is guard mirrors. But consider the amount of items that all have cleared im stoked! Coil overs, entire front/ rear suspension, track, brakes, wheels ,diff ,all on the happy list. With some work I can even look at aftermarket computer and throttle bodies.
Started to strip it all down again. Goes to father in laws soon for body prep and primer. Painting mid march.
