Nope.

I thought by you saying, 'more original', you were having trouble trying to pass it via some scrutineer like historic club?

Weber 28/36 DCD using the stock air filter assembly, with the GX exhaust manifold (even the twin pipe KB10 manifold is okay for this) and a slight cam-grind should bring the performance up considerably. But the rock stock KB10 engine (with the high(er) comp A10) is a O-riginal as it gets.

I think you are asking a lot of the little A10 with the big-port head and twin carbs, especially if you are intending to run it with the stock A10 cam.

Just to confirm isn't this the A14T head? Aren't the ports on those heads even bigger than the stock A14 oval ports?

seems a great idea to me! that should be good for 9000rpm. they are so undergeared especially on 12" rims that the lack of torque wont matter, would be like a fun big bike engine always wanting more.

Did it end up being seized? Im thinking if it was and needs a rebore u wont be able to use the original flat top pistons.

nah bores seemed to be in very good nick. it wouldnt turn round because the head was caked full of loose carbon dust (never seen that b4).
the pistons looked very clean and u can even still see the silver on a couple of the pistons. im just wondering if it even needs a re ring ect.

oh yea i do need to have it as original as i can to get it historical rego'd. aparently i can modify it to what options were available at that time. i was hoping somewhere in the world they sold 1000's with hitachi su's lol.

considering i have 4 datto's im trying to do one up as original as i can get it so i figured the kb10 would be the best option as i think it will be worth the most in time to come. (maybe im wrong :/).

Fitting the GX carbs, especially if they are from another Datsun model, is definitely a period modification, which is what you want. Putting small 12 inch mags should also be allowable. & probably a disc brake conversion, if you could use Datsun 1600 discs & calipers. The only problem I could see with the A14 head would be if it had a larger combustion chamber than the A10, & decreased the compression ratio. Don't forget the nodding dog for the back parcel shelf, that was a popular accessory back then.
