2 rotors is 12.2 pounds
An 8.5" x 3" box will fit them

This will fit in a US Postal Service "Priority Mail®
International Medium Flat Rate Box" (Maximum: 20 pounds) for $44 USD to Germany.

RockAuto is $62 USD each, and come regular or "drilled"
2 rotors: $125 USD
Shipping to me: $35
Total: $160 USD

RockAuto shippings costs make no sense to me, so though I have bought parts from them I look for alternatives.

Datsun 1200 only used one size disc brake rotor. Sedans and Coupes both used the same rotor, though Australia sedans came with drum brakes. I check eBay occasionally and if I see a bargain I might buy them.

I have bought new 1200 parts out of UK where total with shipping costs less than USA parts without shipping.

I bought two Brembo rotors (new old stock) off eBay for $25 total. But that was a few years ago.

were there different ones? i read of only one type, 212 mm in diameter, these ones: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1279129

i also looked up shipping costs AU->GER, the prices i found were at least about the same 170AU$
would be reasonable though if i order some other hard-to-find-over-here goodies like king springs, manifold gasket, suspension bushings etc as well.
if there's a part dealer in here who would do me the favor, i'd assemble a wish list.

btw: are there also sheet metal parts like floor pans, wheel arches and such available in australia?

thanks a lot so far

cheers
viking

Hello again,
not much progress, homemade rear closing panel looks like crap, going to tear it off again and go for one off a opel kadett/isuzu gemini.

Also a new small problem accured: i need brake rotors. no online parts store in whole of germany got them, worldwide it's only rockauto. but paying over 120€/~170AU$ only for shipping seems quite beefy. does anybody have an idea why the shipping costs rise for every part that goes in the cart, event if its exactly the same item?

Yeah, beasts in terms of rust
But it also runs like hell (for a 1200cc), especially with the new clutch

still wondering how to lower the shed in a legal way. guess I've got to go for some custom made springs.

maybe my optimism is actually a lack of experience ;)
the mx5 IRS is attached to a nice one-piece-subframe
some reinforcements here and there, six bolts and a guy who knows what to do is all i may need =)
