yeah, brakes remain stock, found them rotors in germany, brembos 40€ each
i have panelcraft on my radar, their five piece sill repair section seems to be a nice thing too. how costy are they on shipping outside australia?
also desperately seeking for one rear leaf spring mount (the part welded onto the rail) the old one was pretty busted and rough-and-ready welded into shape, don't think my engineer will like it.
is it also possible to stumble upon rear wheel arches? both are simply gone on my car and were modeled out of centimeter-thick-bondo. would kinda suck to weld in just something i find from a different make.
it would be also interesting to know how the sill is shaped on the inside and how it looks like in cross-section - did i mention that theres a quite new skin of thick sheetmetal welded and riveted over the most possibly completely rotten sills on my car?

it would be great if you post here if you ocassionally find some panels offered. there i a lot i can use. i'm looking up ebay and such too but during exams i may miss a lot.

What have you decided on for brakes?

Those rusty panels are the Hood Ledge and Hood Ledge Reinforcment. I saw some New Old Stock on eBay a few years ago, but you could weld new patch panels for them.

long time - no read

nothing happened bout the datto until now, shed is still sitting in the garage. the both demotivational points were the severe rust damage and the lack of parts.
but by procratinating exam learning and intensive reading tech-wiki i discovered that german part dealers still have a lot of bits lying around. i even managed to find a NOS-manifold gasket over here and the brakes are also not a problem anymore.

it looks alike towards the a pillar and its lower part and i guess the water box won't look any better on the inside, but: challenge accepted. i want to replace it tiny bit by tiny bit and hope that the fender will still line up acceptably afterwards. 2 weeks to go, then i'm back at the garage. wish me luck

hello again
car is (almost)CKD now and is about to recieve major bodywork, rear quarter panels, front floor pans, rockers etc. the worst thing about it, is the fact that somebody already tried to "restore" the car with fresh tin over rust. kids can learn a whole bunch of russian swear words just by standing outside the garage
also there is still the pain in the a*se about the brakes, i think a strut conversion is the best (if not the only) way out. according to the related wiki-article early-s13-struts are a good choice, but while searching for such i realized that the s12/gazelle-stuff is a lot cheaper over here, what about them? why aren't gazelles mentioned in the strut-swap article? did anyone try or are they possibly the same as stanza- or other datsun struts?

i know i owe you some pix, but my cam is once again left far away (the datto is stored at my parents' place some 200 km away), but i promise a nice article when i'm done
