Hey Andy,theres most likely 40K in it if you include labour as well as the bits.About 4-450 man hours i reckon.

Few people i know keep accurate times on these projects,but thats a ball park figure going on personel race car construction experiance.

10-12K sounds about right but as you point out there are heaps of utes around with CA's engineered and ready to go.
I wish the seller all the best with the sale anyway.

i haventfound 1 datsun 1200 ute wive any where near the spec,s that my 1- 4 sale has 4 under $20,000 hear in australia . Ps-sum people have no idear and must realy lay off the drug,s as thay just,s seam 2 talk total crap and drive low,hp car,s lol

Got to agree, 1200 utes are everywhere, sedans, coupes and wagons are rare and unique. though in saying that if it were a long tray 1200 I would pay $12K, these being utes that were never manufactured in Aus... But there are a few people who have bought them over from Japan in the past.

some people dont understand that because they want a bargan doesnt mean the seller wants to sell it dirt cheap, the car has had serious money spent on it, and 12 grand seriously, its worth every bit,

Yeah and it ain't regoe'd or engineered. Never said it hasnt cost $40,000 just said that i cant see $40,000 in it and like bert said if you add all the man hours Then Possibly it adds up.It looks very nice but damn sure there aint $40,000 in parts thats for sure if there is then they saw you coming. The fact is nobody is spending money especially this sort of cash on things that aren't finished/regoed. Engineer it at least and i reckon you will sell it hell you will possibly get better money to.

Classifieds should have a no spamming rule . dont like the car or the price cool move on.
look at the mods alone the guy could part the datto out n make more monie than the asking price .
