Batch firing of your injectors like that will work fine. This is how the original Bosch L-Jetronic EFI worked. Sure it's not as accurate as the sequential setups, but it's a hell of a lot easier to set up, and worked fine in a whole plethora of cars in the early 80's.

Good to see you're making rapid progress!

injection trigger? megasquirt will just pick up on the rpm. Im not using sequential injection so it doesnt really matter when the fuel is injected, as long as its injected once every two revolutions. It seems as though i can do it in two lots though, fire injectors one and three on the first revolution and 4 and 2 on the next revolution and alternate like that. benefits are the fuel rail pressure is more constant.

got any pictures or whatever of your mitsi efi set-up so far?

not geros, Goes. rhymes with Bros and Hoes

the morry minor a-series aint a bad donk, but it was hindered by the typical british motor company reluctance to improve and innovate. there arent enough intake or exhaust ports on the head, the stroke was horribly long in comparison to the bore due to british tax at the time and it should have had 5 main bearings rather than three.

The nissan a-series engine was based on the first nissan e-series engine which were damn near a copy of the BMC a-series engine. The japs had a much better idea on how to make a good engine - thats for sure. Theres a mini with a 1380cc BMC lump with a twin cam BMW head, it makes around 170hp which is blardy amazing for a n/a 1.4L engine.

edit: here is a page that shows how similar the engines are: http://forum.ratsun.net/showthread.php?p=209747

Geros?
The morry motor is a poor excuse for a motor and the Nissan A a big improvement
of a similar design.
If a starfire pushrod engine from a holden was a better engine than an A series
I would use it as they are 1.9 litres but the fact is they are not.

I like where this is heading from where someone left off and youve gone
all the way, great work.

There is another name I'd use to describe those people................

id love to but id rather spend the money getting the car on the road rather than a hot engine in a car i cannot use!!

deadline is march, ready for the april national morris minor convention in dunedin. It will be interesting to see how people look at it, there are many old people there who are originalists and would frown on a morry minor with a non-standard motor let alone a computer on board. Ill have two vehicles in the modified category hopefully, the ute and this one. The ute has a stock a12 in it.

Thats's quite a lengthy runner on this manifold. Should provide good bottom end torque. Since you've gone to the trouble of injecting your motor, it'd really be a shame not to super or turbo charge it now.

and with the injectors and fuel rail in place. Starting to look complete. The plenum chamber is in the back of a car which aint here at the moment otherwise i would have put that on as well for the photo.

another update, i got the manifold holes drilled today, and some locating screws in the adapter plate (to ensure the ports are matched) and just general stuff cleaned up. I still have to grind a little crap off the manifold but ill do that after i upgrade to fully sealed safety glasses, the hospital wont want to see me for a third time with aluminium in my eye!! Standard safety glasses dont do jack poo

im pleased with the progress, its happening much quicker than i expected. Im also pleased with the port matching for the adapter to head as it wasn't done in place. My Megasquirt arrives mid next week tested and with a base map to suit my engine which i will start with.

i also cleaned up the exhaust ports and gave them a polish, the aim is to prevent carbon build up more than increasing flow
