haha D its funny you should put a pic of those rods up, i was at my engine builder/machiner today getting some prices on CA parts are he was carrying a box with those rods in them
i was very impressed that they were stock rods, will compare my SPOOL ones to them if hes still got the engine apart when my rods arrive

must be an engine builders industry secret thingy that bmw rods are
the creme of the crop in engine hybrids. So you spooling out for the H beams? what pistons you going to run? Ive seen some bmw aftermarket forged pistons weighing round 400 grams somewhere, I think they where 27.5mm in comp height. Nick forgot to answer the 8v head qs in your PM The 8v heads are all the same except early ones are not twin spark, camshaft grinds are different and early ones are solid lifters. That is a good looking chamber. And only having the two valves, there is probably a whisker more squish than the 4 valve chamber? best thing with the dirty old hemi chambers is the absence of shrouding.

whats beutiful about it? Mitsubishi 6G family engines with 4 bolt mains rods from factory would be more a thing of beuaty imo. lol u love ure bitsaremissings dont ya!

gotta measure my block before i order pistons, going wiseco 20 thou over forgies most likely, ACL ones come in at 322 grams so im guessing mine should be about that and just ordered some new timing belt sprockets for the crank as the one on my engine is stuck on and the one on my spare engine didnt come off even after destroying everything around it to get leverage cost $26US each compared to the $98 the local nissan dealer wanted

Nick where was that 26usd price from ebay?
Also are you going with the same rod length and piston height as they are off the shelf items or going custom?

I had payed for an alloy crank pulley a while back for a suzuki engine
and later the post was going to be $70USD, lucky I used paypal and got my money back as the bastards would not nudge for a less than 1 lbs part. Just wondering if there are any of the front wheel drive EXAs
with the ca18de that dont have the crank girdle? It seems Sylvia ones all have the girdle and I took it off to check its weight and its has to weigh maybe 2kg. I was surprised how soft the main bolts are from factory and also how strong the webbing is inside these blocks. I doubt this block needs the girdle even over 400hp. Its similar to the toyota 2tc engine which in puerto rico are making over 800hp with. Also Ill be on the lookout for a simple crank, alternator, water pump single pulley kit but its seems the crank one is only available separately. Also anyone know of an external filter kit as the factory ca18de filter is for like a lawn mower very poor. eg. which size???? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRM-10695/?image=large

plenty of remote filter kits out there that would do the job and that use larger(ford i think) filters
found a relocator with cooler and thermostat a while ago to suit nissans, forget where though You can view topic.
