What sort of flaps did you use to baffle the winged sump? Or did you just add the wings on purely for volume benefit?
Looks like a healthy 2.5 -3 litres on top of the stock volume. I knew someone who made a sump like this, though not as big. He also spot welded some fins down it to add to cooling (not sure how effective that was). I'm pretty sure he used just a partition baffle (without the flaps, perforations) and then later modified it again so that the oil would not settle in the bottom of the wings (partition baffle kept it all in) instead it would cycle through the system and all the tiny particles could be properly filtered out by the oil filter. I guess it depends how you want the sump to work. Is that a turbo oil return fitting on the LH side (turbo side) wing? it's nice and high up.

yeah i put the fitting on as a return line from the turbo...as for baffles i just used the side of the sump and drill some holes in it as its not really that big so its not going to splash around alot...but yes should add at least a few more litres of oil for good measure

well after months and months i have done some work....shame i cant put everything on....i have refurbished my wiper motor and the horn (after scaring the crap out of people at work with it hahaha. I have remade the roof lining just needs to be fitted, and have taken the leaf springs off to get them reset and repainted...still debating whether to ad an extra spring to firm the ride up a bit. i have started paint stripping the engine bay and have found some more rust, nothing much just a few holes which is an easy fix
After christmas i hope to have the rest of the rust repairs done and hopefully the engine bay painted and engine installed, that is if i get enough time and effort ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() oh aand i have also made my 13's look real nice hehehe' ![]()

haha nice work brett ,youll get sprung and then no more working on car stuff at work !
good to see your getting work done !! ,and would it be better to get the springs reset after rego ?? and ide use stiffer shockys instead of adding springs ,cos with no shocks in the coupe i can bounce the back up and down realy easy ,but with the stuff shocks it is pretty solid hey didnt i give you brand new shockys ??
