MORE QUESTIONS:

mucking around with mounting the motor in over the last couple of days

the engine is sitting on the cross member with 38mm high rubber mounts and only just clearing with about 10mm spacing added. What size are the rubber mounts other people are using? (crossmember is basically a copy of a maddat one)

also the sway bar looks to have no hope of mounting back up, i thought people were using the stock sway bar/120y sway bar with CA18Det?

I had custom swaybar made as 120y bar would not fit.

Should also mention I have not used Maddat components.

its obviously not a maddat replica... my one fits mint... how far off the firewall is your engine?

have u removed the sway bar? mine is all linked up perfect... heaps of clearance... i am not being a bad customer but maddat gear is not really trialed on a car by the looks of the stuff i have got off them, u ask for a better price and they make comments like "do you think we are a charity case?" after u explain that the item u have which is made by them is a poor fit.

"no ambient temp or manifold temp, only water temp"

Not a very good idea. Most computers uses air temp to calculate the correct amount of fuel. So on a cold day it will add fuel and on a hot day it removes fuel. I can't talk specifically about the ca18, but with no air temp sensor, wouldn't the computer go into limp mode?

nah, pretty sure... the ca doesnt go into limp mode when u dont have ambient temp connected...

it puts an artificial figure in from the water temp input into the ecu... as it says in the 895 pages of usuer manual ;) i think i have seen most of them lol....

correct me if i am wrong?

I had a custom swaybar made as the standard 1200 bar just touched the front of the sump. Kev Rowley did my conversion.
