Hmmm, perhaps i need to start an importing business from Australias eastern island dealing in imported bits.
You can,t walk through any wreckers front door in Qld. without spending $20.00 on the smallest of bits.

That would be more expensive than just doing the S13 conversion. I got my brakes with almost new pads for $20. and the adapters only cost me $30. You could likely get a decent price if you sold the struts you have now. So it would be at least cost nuetral, you might even come out of it with some beer money at the end!

Hey Dattoboy,i reckon your dilema is easy fixed, you say you are using Performance alloys. They fit the back but not the front....then go to a dealer and order two more new wheels for the front with the off set you require,Performance offer a variety of differant offsets for under $200 per wheel.Thats got to be cheaper than re building the front end and you have the best of both worlds.

Have to agree with A14force. S13 brakes have far more serious continual stopping power than people realise.
Big cars need big brakes, little cars need littler brakes. Look at most of the open wheelers over here they have 13"rims over their brakes, have bugger all cooling as the brakes are deep inside those huge wheels and stop them all day. I know they are lighter but they are stopping them from warp speed in a small distance. They would be working heaps harder than a hot road car ever would. Plus most of you young pups just want to go fast, you just want to stop once at the end of it. Cheers bob

yeh might try doin what u have done there a14force. sound like the go. Dattodude, ive probrably driven as many cars with good brakes as u have had hot dinners, being that i drive on average 8-15 cars a day that seem to pull up pretty good.

I run 250mm S13 brakes on standard 1200 disc brake struts. They are awesome! The only thing that limits my stopping is my tyres. Plus they only increase the track width by the thickness of the disk hat.
PLus they'll fit inside 13" cheviot trident mags. If you can be bothered registering, I did a write up on the conversion here Also, big heavy brakes increase your unsprung weight.

120y brakes == fine? Have you not driven a car with good brakes?
My Mum used to a have a 1200 coupe with a14 and 120y front brakes. At the same time I had the verada/commodore caliper conversion on my 1200 sedan, and driving her car made me feel REALLY unsafe. 120y calipers/rotors on a 1200 with any more than an a-series is dangerous, unless you are 18 with strong Jedi forces.

hmmmm, im still not sure what im going to do. I dont really plan on hittin the track often, and i wanna keep rims/tyres in the gaurds. My old sedan i had was fitted with 120y brakes, and it was fine. The offset of the rims i am not sure of, but they are 15x6 performance alloys, and fit nice on the rear, but not so nice up front. Might try findin some standard struts & do a coilover conversion to em. i also will have some 180sx brakes layin around shortly after i upgrade a mates 180 to 5 stud and big brakes. maybe that combo will fit better with the rims/tyres/gaurds. What ya reckon?

i dont see the need for massive brakes on a 1200. unless its a track car. i run the small s13 brakes which are more than enough for my ute.
Even my old stanza'a used to stop it well enough. You can view topic.
