I have to agree with you about SUV drivers. Yes its the attitude that is the problem, but that attitute is not soley in the realm of 4WD owners, its just that the attitude that you refer to is made worse by cars that pose a significant safety risk to other raod users.

These people with the self centred view of the world exist everywhere, and there is ltiile you can do about them. I have found that trying to discuss rationally with people who dont understand that there are other users on the road ends in tears. Its their ignorance and selfishness that prevents them from changing anyways.

So after that little rant, yes i agree with you on the SUV idiots issue.

There used to be a sensational web page call The Poser SUV Club. Its not hosted anywhere that I can find, but there are a few references about for it. If someone finds a link, please post it up.

Yeah I'm NOT in any way against off road vehicles that actually travel off road or people who need or use them for their intended purposes or people who dont take them offroad, Just people who get an ego boost when they get behind the wheel. :)

Dont get me started on this topic! They hog the right hand lane on the freeway & even if you are speeding in the right hand lane they sit right up your ass, when you change lanes to let them go by they sit on the speed limit again! Its not the vehicle its the arrogance of the driver, big car syndrome.

you almost need one these days so you can see for traffic when pulling out of angle parks. in any ordinary car its like having a metal wall beside you.

aside from that , ive got nothing against REAL 4x4's, in fact im all for them, but never been a fan of the 'soft roader'. they are so men can be gay without having a boyfriend..

The Datsun's natural enemy?
If there were ever a more bile inducing sight on the road than the scourge of luxury SUVs choking up our roads at the moment. More often driven by business goons who think theyre a little bit "gangster" (see sopranos) and status-obsessed soccer mums who think theyre "safer"...yeah but only after THEIR kids are inside. The rest of the kids better stay behind the school gates, but not even this guarantees their safety the way you see some of them being driven.
Id like to think most Datsun owners are kinda enviromentally aware if not at least aware of the benifits of smaller cars and the amount of wasted space caused by these machines...the biggest waste is usually in the drivers seat.
And whats with black being the preferred colour? Someone should tax these bastards if theyre going to drive around the city in a black car in the harsh australian summer with the AC on full, chewing up even more resources than Crown casino. Its almost like the 80s never went away!

Maybe you agree, maybe you can tell me i'm just jealous or being unreasonable and can justify the wonderful benefits of owning them, and maybe should be complaining about more pertinent matters like the amount of red Datsuns on the road ;)

Yeah maybe im wrong...maybe you DO need 4wd for that all terrain CBD parking garage and speed humps.
cant park em...DONT DRIVE EM!
