Second day at Motorama and I only get two passes. Car died. Apparently I may have fried my ignition coils. Both of them. Bad spark and both coils are reading ohms out of tolerance on the primary coils.
End up trailering the car and bumming passenger seat rides.
Im headed down to the auto part to get two new ones. Im sure that's my problem.
Maybe I'll order a head gasket for the KA motor today as well. That's the only thing holding me up from putting my motor together.

Car fixed and it was simple. Should have worked on it at the track. The Z24 has a distributor rotor that is held down with a bolt. The bolt came out so it wasnt rotating. Hence no spark. Yes, I hammered the car the first day and it was fun!!! It ran real well and times were consistent. Still more racing coming up in September.

Here are some videos from August 23/24.
If you have time, take a look. They have shorten the track to less than an 1/8 mile due to safety reasons. There have been incidents where some have gone off the track at the finish line because of the curve in the 5/8 track.

You can see more racing videos and pictures at:

I ordered a new Head Gasket for my KA24DE so I can now put it back together. I am gathering aluminum material to start a fab on a new intake for my carbs and supercharger. I have 2 more days of racing this season with the Z24 so the KA24DE is still a winter project.

Dizzy bolt. I've had that happen and dizzy spin around freely in my old coupe. Drive like a dog one minute like a race car the next.

What was that about 50/50 persistence and patience at the track you may have been a bit low on the %

Head Gasket ordered this week so I will be able to get moving on the engine build. I went with the Cometic MLS from frsport out of California.
I have most all of the other gaskets and the engine head is reconditioned. My machine guy told me to stick with the stock head. No porting, aftermarket valves or valve springs. He said the Crower Stage 2 cams and the supercharger should push more than enough into the cylinders and should rev. to 8500rpms no problem. With the forge pistons and rods, I'm going to bump my boost up to 10-15 psi and bump the nitrous up to 100hp. Ive been running that Z24 stock with 5psi and 50hp shot and the only problem I've had has been the #3 rod bearing wearing out. Second time now. I think I have enough left on the bearing to finish the season with only two races left.
I'll post some more pictures when I start putting the engine back together.

Head Gasket came in to day so I installed the head and set the timing. I thought I was going crazy because I was failing on getting the timing set. I'd set it and check it and would have valve and piston interference and I'd set it again and have the same problem. Come to find out that Crower Cams stamped my cams incorrectly. The intake was stamped "EX" and the Exhaust was stamped "IN". So after figuring that out, The timing was set perfectly.

looking good!

heres some ideas for you on a sc ka24de

http://nissan.240sx.net/viewtopic.php ... &st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=300

but you are going to need some big sidedraft carb or massive 3 inch Su to not go injetion with that simple manifold design he used. Xcessive engineering I think sells the adaptor for that supercharger setup.
