You need a plasma cutter, would make short work of that cutting.

Idk. I actually think I can cut a steadier straight line with a jigsaw. A plasma cutter cost a pretty penny as well.

Picking up a new clutch disk today. I'm not getting an expensive aftermarket racing one. I had two racing season with a stock OEM one on my Z24 and the disk was in great shape. I would have put it back in but apparently the Z clutch is bigger than a KA clutch. I already had a lightened flywheel and pressure plate. Replaced the pilot bushing as well.
After I get the motor in, I can level the car and build the Carb mounts.
Order the Chevy distributor so when that comes I can get it modified to work on the KA.
Finished up all the wiring the last couple of days.
Still need to build the exhaust header. I've decided to go with 2.5 inch exhaust out the back. That should be enough for my application.
Its coming together.

Looking forward to how you mount these carbs again. Pics will be good in that process.

Put the motor in today. Fit perfectly! Worked on modifying the Alternator bracket so it would line up with the water pump pulley. Ill get the bracket welded up tomorrow as well as start working on the carb intake.
I found out that the starter for the KA is different than the Z motor and that the bolts feed in from the original KA tranny and thread into the starter. But lucklily the bolt pattern was the same so I drilled out the threads in the starter and now the bolts can feed through the starter and fasten into the Z tranny. Im using the Z tranny because its shorter. If I was to use the KA tranny, riders in the back seat would have to do the shifting for me. haha

Ill have more pictures.

If you have problems a big simple 2 inch SU should do the trick :)
They can be taken out to 2.25 inch and even a 2 inch can flow
enough for supercharged 2.5 litre four.

Its really beautiful looking so far love the manifold and how the
whole shebang sits so well!

A SU would probably work. I had good luck with the twin Webers. All my linkage is set up already. They should do the job.

I told my girlfriend that it's my yellow cars 40th birthday this year. She said it was nice that I bought it a new motor on it's birthday.
A12 from the factory, an A14 in 2000, an A15 in 2002, a Z24 in 2010 and now a KA24DE in 2013.
As soon as I finish up the intake manifold, I post some pictures. I have more parts to get welded on Monday.

Oh I thought this was turning into a penthouse letters section, thought she was going to give your car a present too.

Ha!!
Looks like I missed a race yesterday. Apparently the 1/8 mile drags posted their schedule a couple of weeks ago and yesterday was the first race of the season. Next race is next week. Doubt I will make that one either. The 1/4 mile track has yet to post their 2013 schedule. This will be the year that I'll make it down there.
What I have left on the car:

1. Finish the twin Weber intake. Should be finished by mid week.

2. Mount the nitrous solenoids and hook up all the plumbing.

3. Build an alternator bracket to run the alternator on the exhaust side of the motor.

4. Waiting for my custom distributor. The guy is building it right now.

5. I'm looking for a different radiator. Would like to get something bigger and will fit better for plumbing around supercharger.

6. Ordered a new Exhaust manifold. The one I previously ordered won't fit. After I get that, muffler shop can install 2.5 inch exhaust with glasspack muffler.

That's pretty much the list. Its almost done.
