So this is what I have been working on all week. The intake manifold from the carbs to the supercharger. I made the mounts for the carbs and the portion that bolts on to the supercharger is an original Mercedes SLK230 intake. I just cut and modified it for my needs. I got the carbs to sit low enough to use the tall Weber air filters. They stick up above the hood but under the hood scoop. Should get better air flow then the short Weber filters which I had on my last setup because the carbs sat to high. I mounted the single nitrous nozzel on the back side of the carbs. Im going to start with 50hp and see how that works.
Still waiting for the exhaust manifold and havent worked on the alternator bracket yet. The old exhaust manifold is just sitting in there for weight. I used it to level the carbs when making the intake. Its possible that I could have this done by the end of the month. Looking forward to the first test drive.

Looks mad!!!! I see now what you planned!
Could a 45-48mm IDA be used in a similar setup?

It doesn't look mad, looks like a happy place
Not the nearest welds on carbs compared to inlet but get I couldn't do better. Looks like a much neater instal than the previous set up too

The last one I did all the aluminum welding. This time I'm paying this young kid to do it. His dad owns a weld shop and he bought his kid a brand new Miller tig welder. He's actually pretty good. This setup is going to flow a lot better this time around.

No rain today. Looks like the tracks open for racing. To bad I'm not ready. Today I have some cleaning and painting to do. Going to clean up the carbs and supercharger and paint some brackets.
Still waiting for my exhaust header. I ordered a 3 rib pulley for my alternator. It currently a 4 rib. I want to line it up with the water pump and crank pulley otherwise I'll need a tensioner for the water pump. Less belts the better. Then I can work on the alternator bracket. Tomorrow my distributor should be done. I'll shoot some more photos later today to show progress. Progress feels good.

Just some minor stuff today. Some painting and cleaning. Pulled the supercharger out and cleaned it up a bit. Some polishing too. Also a picture of how I chain the motor down on both sides.
Should be able to pick up the distributor tomorrow and should see the exhaust header in the mail.

Today I stripped the paint off one of the valve covers. Looks nice. Looks better on the motor.
The exhaust header that came in the mail today sucked. The stud holes were off on some holes by as much as a 3/16th of an inch. Machine holes were drilled wrong. Ill have to wait till tomorrow to get that figured out.

Clear coat that cover to keep it's raw finish.nice and raw ... If that makes sense.
Car you just redrilled the holes to match up on the head? That sucks too and hope you get some refund from the manufacturer

I talked with the guy that's building my distributor. He bought the same header. He said he had the same problem. He oversized the holes to make it fit. I guess that's what you get for $80 and free shipping on EBay. Seller said he'd take it back. I have to make a decision. In reality, this is a temporary header until I can get a custom one made.
I'm going to hold off on clear coating the valve cover. I'll see how long it can keep its shine. I'm at work now so no progress on car until Thursday. You can view topic.
