I had a feeling no one can ever finish a datsun project :)
Thats what datsun are just constant projects but love seeing this thread, its so mad in the tinkering department and unconventional, love it.

I'm trying!!! But after I fix the supercharger, I'll be looking at upgrading the front brakes.

Upgrading the front brakes for drag racing? I doubt you'll find any lighter brakes than original Datsun 1200.

New Supercharger showed up yesterday. Will start on it again next week. Stopped by a friends and got some pointers on possibly not doing this again. Ignition Timing is a big deal as well as Lean Fuel and also the Rev. Limiter.
Not much to do but rebuild the intake off the supercharger since I blew it out and then replace out the supercharger. Some photos to post. New supercharger, good look at how the trunk turned out with the fuel cell and pump and some others. Well things are better now after a few rashes of mishaps. After the Supercharger break down, I had the radiator blow on me. I had been having overheating issues which I thought I had solved. I was hooking up the car trailer on race night while the car was idling in the garage. Went to get it and nothing but steam in the garage. So no race. Blew the radiator wide open. Now I figured it out. I removed the heater core and plugged the back of the block. Air pockets were my culprit. Easy fix with a 1 foot heater hose from back of block to the return line at the water pump. So new radiator and all is fine. Car is now running great.
What will be next? Ill be going out of town for a week so Im missing next Fridays race. Next race is June 12th. Attach file: d.jpg (171.20 KB)![]()

Well the only new info I got is that I'm redoing my supercharger pipe again. After my best run ever at 6.52, my next run ended in another backfire and blown supercharger pipe. Instead of making stuff, I should just buy it so I purchase a blow off valve and re-spinged it to release at 25 psi. Larger relief port compared to the puny one that I made. Supercharger is OK.
Not sure why it backfired but I'm retarding my timing from 4 to 6 degrees while on Nitrous using the MSD Retard Box. Currently the timing is fixed at 25 degrees. So 19 on Nitrous. Also I'm upping my wet fuel jet from .053 to .057. Nitrous is at .052. NOS Calculator says that's a 125hp shot at 3 psi fuel pressure and 900 psi in the bottle. Lastly I'm going to up the secondary Weber main jet from 200 to 210. That will fatten up the fuel some more on the high end. Will see what the plugs will look like after a pass. Plugs gapped at 028. It all seems reasonable on paper. Next race is July 3rd. I was going to post the GOPRO video of the run but for some reason, no sound. If you want me to post it. Let me know.

Ok, don't know why my GOPRO did not record the sound. Weird.
Here it is. Corvette is not stock. Apparently the guy has money into it. Not sure what. My Line Lock button is down at the shifter, that's why I look down while in the burn box. Off to the left in the burn box, little smoke from my tires. Switch at the last minute before staging is my Nitrous. Button on steering wheel is my transbrake. Stall converter is 3000rpm. Shift at 7200rpms into drive. I'm liking this Powerglide transmission. Never see the front end of that Corvette down the track. Beat it by at least 3 car lengths. My welding is done so I can put the car back together. Drag Video You can view topic.
