I have twin boys and gave them both a ride. And yes, they did not expect that. They both said they could feel it in their stomachs!!!
They now have more respect for me spending a bit of time in the garage. Bigger fuel lines and needle/seats are in. I just bumped up my nitrous to 200hp today. I need that 5.99 time this Sunday!!!

Racing's done for the season. The 50/50 race gas did not help me much at all. Ran same times as last race. I decided not to run the 200hp nitrous shot. Will have to work with my timing and fuel pressures over the winter.
Doing some mods to the car. Running my fuel regulator after the carbs instead of before. So -6 lines in directly from the pump and -4 lines out to the fuel regulator and the return line. Makes the carbs look busy. Took the plastic filters out of the carbs. Fuel restriction there. Installed a separate fuel regulator for the nitrous and have been doing some electrical rewiring on that. Added a couple of relays.

Similar photo but this one shows the nitrous regulator with the gauge. Carbs regulator is below out of site.
Finished putting it back together today but did not take it for a test drive. Seems to idle nicely in the garage at 4 psi fuel on the carbs. 6 psi when I run up the rpms and give it some boost. The nitrous regulator shows 4.5 psi when Flowing into a gas can. These numbers will most likely change when I get it out on the road. I like progress but not the winter season when it comes to racing.

That looks tough. Gotta love 16-valve engine with carburetors.

Thanks Dave.
Other than working with fuel pressures on carbs and nitrous, the car is just sitting in the garage waiting for next season. Every winter I have had some big project on it. Last year was the Powerglide transmission, the year before was the Ford rearend and the year before that was the Z24 to KA24 motor swap This winter Im done!! I really see no more major improvements. No V6's or V8's. I'm sticking with what I have. I do need to install a Purge System for the nitrous. It's raining today so the next dry day we have I'll take the car for a spin.

Another winter is soon to be over and spring is coming which means racing season is soon. This has been the first winter since I've had no projects to do on the car. It has sat collecting dust.
I don't think I've driven it since last October. First race is April 10 so I have a month to get the carbs, fuel and nitrous dialed in. I have a good feeling that this is the year I don't break #OOPS# and my race times will be the best. I guess we will see. ![]()

Cursed car.
Took the car out the other day for a spin and had some stalling out problems. Noticed the fuel pressure was almost zero. Got home and adjusted the pressure and while doing so I inadvertently unplugged the radiator fan. Car overheated and blew the radiator for the second time. Not sure why the cap didnt release the pressure. Will have to look into that. So a new one again on order. So I rewired the fan terminal. Won't happen again. But what will be next?
